After a large number of school desks at Bright Way Primary School in Kampala had been replaced and a new toilet facility had been built for the pupils, one question still remained: How could the provision of meals be improved?
Head teacher Harriet Nanyonga convinced us that it would make sense to construct an entirely new kitchen building with new cooking facilities on the school grounds. As before, project manager Malik took care of ensuring that the idea was implemented to an excellent standard.
Thanks to donors such as CGR Bad Lobenstein, Malik Make’s active support and the hard work of skilled craftsmen including Muwonge and Muhammad, the new 6 × 3-metre building was completed as early as July.
The pupils’ delight can clearly be seen in the pictures. We will certainly visit the school during our next social project trip and hope to receive a very warm and enthusiastic welcome.
