The toilet facilities for the pupils and teaching staff at Bright Way Primary School in Kampala were in very poor condition. However, clean sanitary facilities are not a luxury, but an essential requirement for school operations anywhere in the world — especially because the hygienic conditions for the girls are particularly important to us.
Thanks to many donors, a completely new toilet facility was built on the school grounds in what would be an unbelievably short construction period by German standards: just 14 days. It was inaugurated by the pupils and Head Teacher Mrs Harriet Nanyonga on the very last school day of the trimester.
